The name Bukut is a belizean name given to the Cassia Grandis tree of the rain-forest in riverine and roadside situations of Central and South America and the Caribbean, in West Africa and other tropical countries. The Bukut tree is one of the most treasured trees for its value and medicinal benefits but only few people are privy to the ancient knowledge and use Bukut. It’s dark color and pungent smell deters many away from this potent plant. Like the Bukut tree, Belize has a rich culture and history and this books explains the history of the people of Belize.
