This story is about a man named Rachav Lapertice who is on the journey of a lifetime. He is a handsome white male in the 1820’s, who despises slavery and he is going to use his white privilege and money to right a huge wrong. But once he starts down this road, he finds out that it is way more difficult than he ever could have imagined. Not only does he have to fight with the owners of the slaves but also the people he would least expect. The road he travels has many twist and turns, but for him it is all worth it.
