“A Sacrifice Acceptable, Well-Pleasing to God: Refuting Compulsory Tithing in Today’s Church” by Bill Mellen

Too often in churches today, Christians are made to feel as if they are “robbing” God if they fail to give a tithe, or 10%, of their income to their local church. Alternatively, many churches will promise their flock hundredfold returns by planting a “seed of faith” money offering. Still others teach that tithing unlocks hidden blessings from God, or that God is powerless to bless the one who withholds the tithe from the church. What then is the truth? In the church today, nowhere is this exhibited more than in the area of offerings and tithes.
